James River Near Nickel Bridge (VA) – Smallmouth

Where: James River under the Nickel Bridge, Richmond, VA

Catch: Bluegill, Small Smallmouth
Access: Very good wading from south side of river; park on north side in the park and walk across nickel bridge.

Big Hunting Creek (MD) – Trout

Where: Big Hunting Creek, Maryland

Catch: 4 nice sized (12″-15″) Brook Trout
Access: Excellent along entire stream, don’t even need to get your feet wet.

Roosevelt Island (DC) – Smallmouth

Access: Good parking and island access, horrible wading

Potomac River – Fletcher’s Cove (DC) – Smallmouth & Other

Rock Creek, Southern Portion (DC) – Trout

Access: Easy access to the river all along its length, but too polluted to wade

Lower Pennyfield Locks (MD) – Smallmouth

Catch: Several smallmouth bass 6-10″, several bluegill
Access: Easily waded, suggest waders as locals report seeing snakes at times
